日本伝統技術「江戸切子」から発想した服飾表現の提案
CONCEPT
ニュースで日本の伝統技術を継承する職人が減少していることを知った。本研究では、繊細且つ強い美しさを持つ江戸切子の魅力にフォーカスし、その魅力を衣服デザインに落とし込んだものである。江戸切子の模様は立体的で非常に優雅であり、「煌めき」や「遊び心」をイメージさせる。衣服制作では、ガラスを連想させるPVC素材を中心に、江戸切子の模様を連想させる柄や艶感のあるベロア素材などにリボン刺繍やデジタルプリント加工を用いてオリジナルテキスタイルを制作した。

Proposal of Clothing Expression Inspired by the Japanese Traditional Technique “Edo-kiriko”
CONCEPT
The craftsmen who inherited Japanese traditional handicrafts are declining as I learned from news now and then recently. Thus, the inspiration of the garments designs originates from “Edo Kiriko” which refers to a traditional Japanese craft in which geometric patterns are engraved on a glass surface. The beauty of “Edo kiriko” glassware lies in “light’’. However, taking a closer look, the delicate and beauty of the “Edo kiriko” are being magnified, the colored parts show a good 3D effects.
The plastic material which is similar to glass was chosen for the production of the garment combing with the material printed with Japanese traditional patterns. And the material making process refers to the production of “Edo kiriko” carving, using ribbons, sewing machines hread and electronic printing for processing.
