本研究は、ルネサンス期の精髄と衣服デザインを、現代の技術と感覚に融合させ、現代服として表現する提案である。キャロライン・エヴァンスの著書『Fashon at the Edge』（2007年）の批判的分析に基づき、現代に共鳴するルネサンス期をデザインのテーマとし、未来に共鳴し続ける新たなファッションに変換する。ルネサンス期の素材、テキスタイル、美術の配色、衣服のシルエットとパターンを分析してデザインソースとして使用し、現代の衣服制作の技術を駆使して、過去の衣服と現代の衣服を並置させる方法を模索する。

This study is a proposal for combining the essence of the Renaissance period and its garment designs with modern technology and sensibilities to create contemporary clothing. Based on critical analyses in “Fashion at the Edge” written by Caroline Evans, I chose the Renaissance period, which resonates with the present day, as a design theme and tried to transform the old into new fashion that will continue to resonate in the future. Analyzing and using Renaissance materials, textiles, art color schemes, garment silhouettes and patterns as design sources, and utilizing contemporary garment-making techniques, I looked for ways we could juxtapose past and contemporary garments in this project.
