Q.1
I’m not a university graduate. Can I take the examination?

A
If you are not a university graduate, please contact us beforehand. When you are recognized in an interview to have academic achievement equivalent to a university graduate, and if you will be at least 22 years old on April 1st of the enrollment school year, it is possible to take an examination. (For the “General entrance examination”. Applicants for “Working people entrance examination” are limited to those who will be at least 24 years old in the enrollment school year.) Please make sure to check the details of eligibility requirements for examination in the “Application Guidelines”.

Q.2
I am applying for the division of fashion creation. Is it possible to take the examination without having experience in designing and making clothes?

A
The division of fashion creation (both fashion design course and fashion technology course) assumes that you have learned the basics of costume design and creation. Also, at the entrance examination, you need to give a “self presentation” based on up to 3 of your works you created by yourself within the past 2 years (one or more of these works must be clothes). Applicants are limited to those who have their own original creations.
The examination is available for those who are not graduates of schools related to clothing.
For those who want to start learning how to design clothes, there is a college (Bunka Fashion College) in the same group where you can learn specialized knowledge and the skills of clothing design.
Please see this website for more information about Bunka Fashion College.

Q.3
I am applying for the division of fashion management. Is it possible to take the examination even if I did not learn business administration or commerce at university?

A
You can take the examination without an academic background related to business administration or commerce. However, you are expected to have an interest in fashion business management and motivation to throw yourself into the research.

Q.4
What kind of examination categories are there?

A
The categories are “General entrance examination” and “Working people entrance examination”.
“General entrance examination” is administered for both divisions of fashion creation and fashion management, but “Working people entrance examination” is administered only for the division of fashion management. The eligibility requirements for examination and examination subjects vary based on the category. Please check the details in the “Application Guidelines”.

Foreign nationals can apply for both “General entrance examination” and “Working people entrance examination”.
